STRETCHING AND EXTRUSION

The extrusion:

The extrusion is a process used after preheating in a high temperature, a billet of the alloy to be transformed is pushed by an hydraulic press through an hollow steel tool at the form and sizes of the requested shape, called die. .

So, the billets provide various shapes (round, square, flat bars, tubes or particular sections according to a drawing plan) in various lengths with a great size precision and very good mechanical characteristics.

The stretching:

The stretching consists of putting a shape in form by stretching and reduction of the section and subjecting it an extension through a die with a draw bench.

The ductile materials can be cold or hot drawn (drawing) to obtain the requested sizes, calibration and forms. The strain aging that follows modifies the mechanical characteristics of metals in increasing their resistance and their rigidity.
